14u Blue adopts Memphis Offense After traveling to Memphis to AAU Nationals over the summer and meeting with the players and coaches about the system, Coach Neil has decided to go all out with the Dribble Drive Motion. DDM, featured last week in Sports Illustrated ("Fast and Furious", pg. 48, Feb 18 issue), was created by Vance Wahlberg. The article mentions several high school, travel, college and pro teams that use it, including the Georgia Stars in the article. "It is a cutting edge offense that spreads the floor and attacks one on
one", says Coach Neil. "I only partially implemented it last season but this year will be all out. The biggest strength of this offense is I feel we are teaching kids how to play basketball instead of how to just run plays. Our practices are exciting and fun; much more precise with a purpose since installing this. This offense builds completes skill sets and encourages individual creativity. I know without a doubt our players will be ready to compete on the JV and Varsity level for their high schools next year".
